This journey as a vidder, this experience, one which was brought up by the announcement of The X-Files : I want to believe movie, has trully been enrichening in so many ways. I got to know many new people and some of them count as my friends today, Back then, it was all about the excitement for the new movie. I remember with joy those days and back in 2007, I never thought I would get to make so many videos. I didn't even know how to make one, so I guess the excitement lies there. And I did, learned how to vidd with support and love from the philes from around the globe. There come times where we draw a line and look back so I can't but bring back some old videos I've made. In name of those times that all of philes will remember dearly, or as I call it, the pre-IWTB era. Here are some of them, in poor quality but brought back to you from ashes. I intend to upload them all and put the link on my websites video section.

It has been a while since I had made a new video of The X-Files. Holidays, work, and all the usual "bla bla" keept me away from doing what I love doing most: vidding about Mulder and Scully!

Still Lost is a song by Tom McRae, not that known but a very talented artist indeed. Now I had done one video with his music before (My Vampire Heart) and hearing this song, inspired me to do another one which isn't that much about losing anyone but how you get lost without that one certain person...

Still lost is my first video in 2010 and I want to wish you a good new year although a bit late. Enjoy this video. Thanks to people who left a comment.

Happy 2010! - It has been an amazing year, I am thankful to so many great philes, for your friendship and good times. Thankful to Anelisse and Yellowbee for this wonderful friendship, Carmen for the Mark Snow signed CD-Cover, to Jana for that wonderful Berlin postcard even though I couldn't make it to the X-Con, Avi and Tiffany for my Gillian signed DVD-Cover, for keeping the legacy alive and never giving up hope for another feature movie... I am thankful to Frank Spotnitz for his unconditional love to this fandom... there were too many events that marked this year... I am just naming some of them. To wrap up, I am looking forward to 2010 in hope and optimism that this year we will get the "Big News"!! Happy year everyone! Bonne Année! Gutes neues Jahr!

Please note that the author of this article clearly says that the movie was being planned, however I just watched the original video of this very long interview ( http://sff.ba/ba/sff_web_tv section Coffee With...) and Gillian responded that there were talks about maybe making a third movie in 2012. She adds that she'd love to play in it since she's very devoted to the people who work on "The X-Files"

Gillian Anderson, american actress, she loves the roles of women with dark secrets, does not think that she's a control freak and loves Cevapi.

"Of course I would accept to play in a new (third) "X-Files" movie", she said for Dnevnik.hr during the chat with the media and the audience at the last press conference of this 15th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival.

With this statement, the actress wanted to let people know that she's not bothered with the fact that most of the people call her "Agent Scully" which she has played over a decade in a tv-show and the two feature movies. The third movie, according to her, is in early stages and should be filmed by 2012!

Anderson also said during the press conference that the main reason why she didn't succeed on separating her "Scully" image from her career is the fact that she wasn't really aware of how important the work of the publicity agents is. "only since last year I have an agent who's main goal is to redirect my career in a different direction from that of the role which I played on "The X-Files". Personally, I was not aware of the impact of that role and of the mechanism which makes you famous. Fox television, who is the owner of "The X-Files" has done the publicity part surrounding the series obviously very well. Even my new agent has noticed that during the last 10 years, I was being interviewed only about my character on the series. That was great for the show's publicity but not that much for my personal affirmation outside that project."

"The X-Files" was filmed during 9 months a year and the actress remembered how she thought back than that she would be able to do different movies and plays during her 3 months break for the rest of the year. It turned out to be something very exhausting.

When asked if she really is a control freak, Gillian smiled and said that she might be trying to keep things under control, but that in her case, the things control her: "As I decided to become an actress, that was mostly because of the theater. I told myself I would not end up on television at any cost, which did happen after all. Somehow, there are events that define the course of the life. One of those events is when I followed an advice and traveled to Chicago from New York to an audition. I prepared myself for the play on a bench in a park and everything seemed so unsignificant on that day just like any day. But I was noticed by some people and offered me some help, on one condition. If I move back to New York which I accepted."

Making living in a theater turned out to be difficult. The actress had had no job during one year, even though she went to auditions very often. She worked as a waitress. Something similar happened in Los Angeles where she was trying to make a breakthrough for one year. "One day, I went for the audition on "The X-Files". After that I received a call followed by more calls after what I went to Vancouver, where the filming started.

When asked why she always choses to play the roles of women with dark secrets, Gillian replied that those roles always find her, a similar situation happened when she was offered the role of a doctor's wife in the movie "Last King of Scotland" from the producer Kevin McDonald, about the Uganda dictator Ida Amin. "The coincidence is that before the movie was made, I had visited Africa several times with my husband. As the producer called me and when I read the script, I knew that it was the right thing to do because I could get into the role of a white women who are somehow connected to Africa."

Gillian didn't hide the fact that before the invitation to come to Sarajevo, she didn't know that the city had a film festival. "But I know what you have been through and I admire you as a community fighting for survival during the war". She added that she loves the bosnian food and by what she described, we can conclude that she talks about "Cevapi". "They brought us a big plate with meat and onions in the restaurant, but I especially loved that bosnian bread (Somun)."

When it comes to the plans for the future, Gillian said that her priority is her personal life. That's why, as she says, she isn't in a hurry about anything, she's writing a book for 7 years and obviously enjoys life. She recently played a lesbian in a movie called "Boogie Woogie" and the movie should be released later this year.

Gillian will be going to Dubrovnik along with Mickey Rourke to attend the Dubrovnik Film Meeting.

"Sarajevo is more beautiful then I ever thought" - Interview by Gillian Anderson

On the last day of the Sarajevo Film Festival, Gillian Anderson, the 41 year old actress gave an interview. She became world wide famous with her role as the Special Agent Dana Scully in "The X-Files".

Anderson has talked about the sci-fi series which has made her popular, but also about difficulties when the series was over. The producers saw her only as the agent who was born to solve mysteries.

In efforts to break this chain, as she said, she was helped by the producer Willard Carroll who gave her a role in his movie "Playing by Heart". As she stated, that was one of her favorite roles since she has already been admiring Wilard Carroll's work but also because of the fact that the list of actors on this film was very impressive, including the following actors; Sean Connery, Angeline Jolie, Jon Stewart, Gene Rowlands and Ryan Phillippea...

"I loved his previous movies and I hoped that he could prove to the world that I was able to do something different", said Gillian. She played in 9 seasons of "The X-Files" and she said she enjoyed every moment of it."

"Despite the fact that I didn't dislike playing on this show, it was very different from playing on a movie. Filming a movie comes as a vacation, the rhythm is slower. The daily pression on the series set is the worse part which no one should endure. Usually, the series was filmed during a period of 9 months. I had time for myself only during the remaining 3 months of the year to take vacation and to have a chance to do something else", said this guest of the Sarajevo Film Festival. She will be holding a lecture at the Talent Campus later today.

Anderson spoke about her acting debute - she has done her first play as she was in the sixth grade. She also spoke about her future project and how she plans to direct movies.

"I am very interested in directing. There's a book I would like to adapt on big screen and I've been working on that for quite some time", said Anderson. She has already had the opportunity to direct one episodes of "The X-Files".

At the end of the interview, she also told the press that "Sarajevo is more beautiful then I ever thought"

"The city looks amazing and I am happy to visit the downtown this afternoon. I took a walk in Sarajevo last night and had a dinner. You have a delicious food here."

On Wednesday (August 19) the eminent American actress Gillian Anderson arrived to Sarajevo. The Festival audience was able to see this outstanding actress on the red carpet at 10.30 p.m. the same day.

This exceptional actress, who gained the wide popularity with the role of Dana Scully in the cult TV series THE X-FILES, which earned her numerous awards including the Golden Globe, the Emmy Award, and the Screen Actor Guild Award, as well as the title of one of the most popular actresses of todayis going to be one of the lecturers at the 3rd Sarajevo Talent Campus.

She also realised important roles in the films such as THE MIGHTY with Kieran Culkin, PLAYING BY HEART with Sean Connery and Angelina Jolie, A COCK AND BULL STORY by Michael Winterbottom, THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND in which she played together with James McAvoy and Forrest Whitaker, and HOW TO LOSE FRIENDS AND ALIENATE PEOPLE with Kirsten Dunst and Megan Fox.

For the role in THE HOUSE OF MIRTH by Terence Davies, she won the British Independent Film Award for the best actress and The Village Voice Film Critic’s Poll for the best acting performance.

In 2005, she was a part of an extremely successful BBC TV project – a TV adaptation of the Charles Dickens’ novel BLEAK HOUSE.

A strange thing happened to me today.. no, I haven't seen an alien or Paris Hilton... nope. Well I was in the supermarket here and well while walking there, a group of people walking by, one of them started whistle... The X-Files theme... heheh yeah. It is strange, I just smiled and went on. I guess years after, TXF remains in subconsciousness of the people.

The other thing I wanted to talk about is the Fanderson meetings around the world. I once wrote to the Gillian Anderson's website concerning the charity auctions.. the lady who was so kind to answer, well she wrote to me that despite all the efforts, not many fans are actually supporting the charity action by our lovely Mrs. Anderson. This is why I will participate this year, anything you can give is welcomed and I think very much appreciated by Gillian.

The amazing thing with the vidding experience is to see people connecting from all over the world watching my videos... maybe it isn't as amazing as the fact that The X-Files trully is an international phenomenon crossing all borders and boundaries... I always imagine the people watching my video somewhere in Japan or on Fiji Island hehehe and it fascinates me even more.

Now my videos are ready to travel all the way to Russia, the worlds biggest country. The cool russian site IWTB.RU will be featuring my videos on the demand by the admin. I am happy that more russian fans will be able to discover my and hopefully other vidders work.

The angst is out there

William... I remember how much that storyline was dear to my phile-heart. Mulder was gone, Scully was all bizzare, but well at least William was there despite all the super-soldier-mania that took over my Files of X.

This new video is kinda filled with angst, my attempt to escape from the usual, typical portayal of William in the fanvids. I don't say I don't like those, it's just that I wanted to do it differently. I thought for a long time about making "my" William video, but I couldn't think of the right approach until this concept came to my mind while I was vidding another video. I hope you do enjoy it and leave me some feedback.

I was telling myself the other day how the holiday season got us all busy and I've noticed there's been a slow-down in the fandom.. Not many new vids, some yeah, but still, I need to see "new" X-Files stuff even though it's not so new :D

The good thing about vidding is that you can manipulate the clips and make a whole new story and feeling about it. So in a way it does look "new"... sorta..

Well, Yellowbee, my fellow vidder and friend, has come up with this new video called "How we used to be" and it looks fresh due to the rarely used clips she put. The video is a must-see for everyone reading this, don't hesitate to give her some love and support, we all need it from time to time :D After all, we're all human.. or not?

The Obama Files

We all know that the truth is out there and that for 8 years or so an alien was sitting in the oval office. Well, almost alien, except for his face which has much ressemblance with a monkey... well I could go on but that person is almost history.

I was reading a newspaper this morning and one article caught my attention. "Bye Bye Doubleyou" from swiss paper Le Matin. Maybe this video will help you understand what I am talking about...

And so the "comedian" (as many europeans call him) is going away and a "change" is at the horizon in Washington. I believe Obama will bring the changes he promissed and I must say, he is my next favorite US president. Hope he won't disappoint us all.

To celebrate his arrival in the White House in a few days, I have created this two avatars of Mulder and Scully over at this cool site where you can upload any photo and make it look like the famous Obama Ad.

X-Files, The: Fight the Future

The X-Files film hit theaters during the summer of 1998 as a bridge between the fifth and sixth seasons of the cult television series. I had never been a fan of the television show and had only known two things in relation to the Fox television show. I knew the names of the main characters and I knew that Gillian Anderson was a nerd´s fantasy girl. I admit it. I thought she was hot. A very good friend of mine, Jeff Hoffman, was a very big fan of the show and this was one of his must see films of the year and he was able to convince me to go along in a small group to watch the film and he promised to fill me in on anything I needed to know while we watched the film. For instance, who is the guy smoking the cigarettes? I seem to remember Jeff luring me into the theaters by promising Gillian Anderson would be in lingerie in the film. It worked.

I can recall a few moments a decade ago during the screening of this film and I do remember enjoying the storyline and characters a great deal. I knew next to nothing about Fox Mulder and had incorrectly assumed he was just another boring television nerd. That changed when the film showed him urinating on a poster for "Independence Day" and it may have been that very moment when I quickly realized I had missed the train for the "X-Files" television show and it would have been something I would have greatly enjoyed. However, after already missing the first five seasons it seemed a little too late to jump onboard and I can remember feeling a little chagrin sitting in that theater seat because the movie was a lot of fun and Mulder and Scully were wonderful characters that said and did things that easily made me smile. And yes, Gillian Anderson was hot.

The film instantly subjects its viewers to the strong held X-Files mythology in alien existence with a scene depicting a caveman coming into conflict with an alien. It quickly fast forwards to modern times and begins the well written storyline and a young boy (Lucas Black) is quickly overtaken by a mysterious black oil that was apparently a familiar plot device on the television show. At this time in the X-Files timeline the two FBI agents have been re-assigned from the X-Files and are now under the charge of John Locke (Terry O´Quinn) and a bomb discovered by Mulder explodes and innocent lives are lost (pun intended). The two agents return to Washington D.C. and both come under fire for some lives being lost in the building and it is determined that they will be evaluated and decisions will be then made for their further career in the FBI.

The already intriguing story becomes more interesting when screen veteran Martin Landau is introduced as Dr. Kurtzweil and it is revealed to Mulder that the bomb was allowed to explode to hide the true reason for the deaths of the four innocents that were supposedly killed in the blast. Mulder soon discovers that the four bodies were subjected to something that caused rapid cellular decomposition and they were not killed in the blast. It is also revealed that the boy was the same boy that fell into a hole and came into contact with the mysterious black oil and the other three bodies were firefighters who had tried to save the boy. When Mulder and Scully investigate the background to the boy and the firefighters they find a mysterious new park has been erected over the hole where the boy came into contact with the black oil and a convoy of trucks that uncover two very large domes in the middle of an unusual cornfield.

From this point the story and plot become a little heavy and those unfamiliar with X-Files canon can easily become lost. It is a very well told tale featuring the iconic characters and I´m very thankful to have had a friend sit with me and help explain things to fill in the details I was not privy to as a non-watcher of the long running show. Some familiar faces from the show make appearances and Mulder is sent to Antartica to look for a cure to save Scully after she had been stung after visiting the two cornfield domes. Mulder uncovers evidence that the infamous Cigarette Smoking Man had knowledge of alien existence for quite some time and the film offers Mulder aliens in hibernation and a genuine space ship. Of course, only Mulder is able to see the alien ship fly off into space, but this was a monumental moment for the character and provided a box office sized adventure for the television show.

"The X-Files" is an entertaining and adventurous film. The lead characters do an excellent job of bringing their small-screen roles to the big screen and the chemistry and years of practice in the roles is apparent and both David Duchovney and Gillian Anderson are wonderful. I became especially fond of the character of Fox Mulder and liked his approach towards life and his general attitude. I had a tepid interest in the film, but almost immediately I was rewarded with an engaging story that moved quickly and my interest was held throughout the entire picture. I did have some questions, but I could have gotten through the film without answers. There was a lot of background information to cull this two hour picture from and creator Chris Carter did an amazing job of expanding the world of his characters. This is simply a wonderful science-fiction adventure film that crosses genres and provides a little of something for everybody.

In my humble opinion, "The X-Files" is one of the finer big screen adaptations of any television show. It nicely continues the storylines set up within the show, but intensifies everything with a bigger and bolder story. Fans were treated with a kiss between Fox and Dana and the presence of the alien mother ship was another large reveal. The film provided a bridge between the fifth and sixth seasons of the show and from all accounts fits nicely into the canon of the X-Files timeline. The characters are given a far larger playground to investigate the possible existence of aliens and the story and events are accessible enough that non fans of the show could be entertained as well as fans. It surely helped appreciate the depth of the story more with the show´s background information, but not knowing all of the details still provided for a nice stand alone experience. So very often television adaptations fail miserably. This is not one of them.

Where I felt "The X-Files" truly succeeded was in capturing new interest in the show and bringing non-fans into theaters. The film went on to gross nearly $200 million worldwide and I can recall leaving the theater thirsting for more information on Scully and Mulder. Now, I´m not a person to watch television and the only shows I´ve followed religiously since the beginning of time have been "Married with Children," "Greg the Bunny" and "LOST." I didn´t have the time or resources to afford the DVD box sets of the show and kept the notion that one day I would watch every X-Files episode when I had the ability to do so. In spirit I became a fan of the "X-Files," but not in practice. Sooner or later they will be released onto Blu-ray and I will finally sit through the adventures of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

Video:

"The X-Files" is showcased in 2.35:1 widescreen and while it is far better than my non-anamorphic version of the film on DVD, it still felt a little disappointing as I watched the film. The picture quality just does not seem up to snuff when compared to other catalog titles that are not yet in their teen years. Compared to "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" it looked archaic and ancient. The picture looks quite grainy through much of the film, but the level of detail does not appear to be as solid as it should be and the colors look faded. I was anticipating this re-release, and while it is a great improvement over the first DVD release, it may not be too much of a step up over more recent editions. I had watched the film on DVD in preparation to see the sequel and remember the solid black borders around the entire film and having them gone is all that truly made me happy with this release.

There are times in the film when the detail is strong. I felt the bee scene and the corn crops looked good. There were other times when I swore I saw edge enhancement and even a few jaggies. I thought these things were obsolete with Blu-ray, but the truth is out there and I´m telling you this disc is plagued with a few familiar old foes. As I mentioned, the colors looked faded, but part of this is because the film looks so old compared to the sequel. Flesh tones are solid and the picture was average in this area as far as catalog titles go. Black levels were the strong suit of this release and detail never dropped in the darker moments other than times when it seemed like a soft focus lens was causing havoc. While I´m disappointed, this is still far better than my other release, but "The X-Files" should have gotten a little more attention.

Audio:

At least the soundtrack sounds a little more refined and Mark Snow´s hauntingly familiar score sounds better than it ever has. The English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack does a wonderful job of bringing the big screen adventures of Fox and Dana to life. There is solid sound throughout the film in all five channels. Plenty of discrete effects and ambient sounds fill the rear surrounds and the .1 LFE channel comes happily alive during explosions and other tense moments. There was far more excitement in this film than the sequel and I found myself enjoying the sound of the older film far more than I did the new film. The directional effects did seem a little forced at times, but one area where sound has improved is in mastering the movement between channels. Dialogue is very good and I never had any problems understanding what was being said. French and Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital mixes are also provided as well as subtitles in English, Spanish, Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Extras:

Released concurrently with "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" Ultimate X-Phile Edition, the first "The X-Files" movie contains a very nice number of features that includes the same type of Profile 1.1 features. A digital copy of the film is not included and there are no BD-Live features included to play with. However, the film does ask for the user to choice between the Extended Cut of the film and the Theatrical Version. The longer cut runs for one minute and two seconds longer. The only difference I could spot was the initial sequence with the alien was a little bit longer. I do like that the theatrical version is now available as previous DVD releases were only the extended cut. I´m sure the purists will agree.

The first film finds itself packed with some nice Profile 1.1 features. By selection the extended cut, the Picture-in-Picture Commentary by Rob Bowman, Chris Carter, Frank Spotnitz and Daniel Stackheim can be viewed. This is the same as the Audio Commentary, but shows a video shot of the four speaking in a PiP window in the lower left of the screen. The commentary track was recorded freshly for this Blu-ray release and I feel it is quite entertaining. Spotnitz and Carter have been the writers and co-creators of the show for a very long time and their friendship is apparent and those that have not seen every episode of the show may find a little education from listening to the commentary. There is a certain degree of nostalgia as they speak, but that is to be expected and never gets annoying.

The video commentary is not the only In-Movie Feature of the Blu-ray release. The four colored buttons allow for switching between the video commentary and three other features. The red button brings up a Real Time Index that shows what features are currently available for the other three buttons and the commentary is constant here. The green button is reserved for the commentary track. Pressing the blue button provides access to the Behind the Camera functionality that is a collection of scene-specific making of clips. These are not PiP based, but causes a temporary pause to the film while the short video is played. The final button is colored yellow for those not in the know and contains Storyboards and Concept Art. These features are identical to the sequel "The X-Files: I Want to Believe."

The Original 1999 Audio Commentary by Rob Bowman and Chris Carter is also included if you would like to skip past the nostalgia and listen to a commentary track that was recorded when the film was still fresh in the head of the director and creator. This commentary track was recorded Criterion style and is chock full of background information, but is not quite as easy to sit through as it is heavily detailed oriented and lacks the camaraderie of the new commentary track. I would only recommend that somebody sits down and listen to the older commentary track if they absolutely love this film and are huge X-File fans. Otherwise, the newer commentary provides very good information and is a lot easier to sit through.

A few other items are also included and much of the content has not previously appeared on older releases. For the first time, an Alternate Bee Sting Scene (2:19) is all about some tenderness and a steamy kiss between Mulder and Scully. Blackwood: The Making of The X-Files: Fight the Future (2008) (19:30) is a new making-of feature that seems to be created from archival material and doesn´t contain any new interviews. Visual Effects (8:49) and Scoring (5:03) are two more brand new inclusions of older material that looks at the making of the film. Some Still Galleries and an X-Files: I Want to Believe Trailer complete the brand new items on this Blu-ray disc.

The carry over footage is fairly slim outside of the running commentary. However, The Making of the X-Files Movie (1998)(26:53) is a far better look at the making of the film than the newly edited one. Much of the same footage is used here, but this is longer and far more detailed and doesn´t seem as ´promotional´ in feel. I´d recommend skipping past the new one and spending a half hour here. A very brief Gag Reel (2:41) and three Theatrical Trailersare the very last items contained on this Blu-ray disc, but the Gag Reel is worth watching one more time as it has a few very funny moments for as short as it is.

Closing:

It has been nearly a decade since I last sat down and watched this film. Doing so just after watching the far inferior sequel "X-Files: I Want to Believe" showed how well put together "X-Files" was and reminded me that I had missed these characters even though I have never spent too much time with them. I´ve watched many episodes of the television show over the years, but only a fraction of the entire series. I´ll get around to watching them all one day, but this will always be my favorite "X-Files" adventure. The video is a step up from my ancient DVD, which cannot fill my 16x9 television, but it is not as crisp as I had hoped. Sound is very good and the special features are quite good. This film was given a good degree of love, although the newer "X-Files" film is a stunning release in comparison. This is the absolute best version of the film, but it could have been a smidgeon better.

Generation X

I always felt like there's this whole generation of people who back then in 90ies followed the series without missing one episode. I remember when I was back in school and The X-Files was becoming quite popular, some classmates were asking me questions about mythology, the characters and everything they wanted to know.

This video comes as a tribute, a reminder of some great moments from The X-Files where each episode felt like an feature film, the coolness of Mulder and Scully.

It is wednesday and only few days separate me and the IWTB dvd... I looked out my window last night and what a surprise! It started snowing! I stared outside for a while, remembering the past year, my excitement as I went to see The X-Files : I Want To Believe for the first time. It was in an open-air summer theater. There was a crowd of people and I could see, many excited Philes. And there I was. Watching Mulder and Scully again. On the big screen. The weather wasn't the best, it almost started raining at one point and you could see thunder in the background.

So much excitment, and so much joy... Now I feel the same awiting the dvd to arrive to my home. I never understood why I like this show so much, after so many years. I guess I'll never really know.

The new exciting news is that Youtube has made some improvments. The video size limit was bought up from 100MB to 1GB and it's all in HD. So now I am trying to render some of my videos in HD version for the enjoyment of all Philes. I guess that will make me quite busy for a while. I have to make many adjustments but I am happy to share them in better quality now.

Third "X-Files" Film To Deal With Aliens AHN November 18, 2008

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - If "X-Files" is having another go at the box office, it would likely have to deal with aliens, writer/producer Frank Spotnitz reveals in plans for a possible third film.
Spotnitz told movieweb.com in an interview that he welcomes the opportunity of making another film starring the famed duo Mulder and Scully, and he already has an idea of what they would be tackling.
He said, "If we were to make one more feature, I think we would definitely have to deal with alien colonization. I honestly think that's the movie that most non-hardcore X-files fans, as well as a lot of hardcore X-files fans are dying to see."
"Obviously, I think Chris [Carter, creator] has had ideas about that from the very beginning when he dreamt up this show, 16 years ago."
The probable release date of the film would also be in December 2012, seeing that the date is very important in the X-Files mythology.

X-Files 3 Movie Update
When The X-Files: I Want To Believe bombed this past summer at the U.S. box office it looked like the end of the sci-fi franchise. However the film has grossed a pretty decent $70 million worldwide off of a modest budget of $30 million, so it is firmly in the column marked profit. All this and the DVD sales haven’t even been factored in yet.
Now Fox head Tim Rothman has stated that he’d be up for a third film in the series, and all that it will take for the film to get a green light is commitment from Chris Carter, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.

When asked by IESB about the film Rothman said:
“It’s really up to Chris, David, and Gillian.”
“It wasn’t a matter of the money, that was the film that Chris wanted to do. He was determined to do a stand alone film, a film that wasn’t dependent upon the mythology. His interest in making the movie, was in the characters and in their relationship, not the mythology.”
Producer and Co-Writer of I Want To Believe Frank Spotnitz seemed a bit surprised by the news. On his blog he wrote:
“I was encouraged to read Tom Rothman’s remarks as well. I anticipated the studio would wait until after the release of the DVD to make any decision regarding a third movie, but I will let you know if we end up having any news before then.”
So there you have it. The future seems bright for Mulder and Scully. While I Want To Believe may not have been a huge commercial and critical success it has generated enough coin to get a third film off the ground.
I recently re-watched the film and I have to say that it works better on the small screen, and it does play more like an episode of the series. Which isn’t really a bad thing!
During the publicity rounds for the last film all the principals seemed very interested in returning for a fourth installment, so there would appear to be a very good chance that Mulder and Scully will return.

"X-Files : I Want to Believe" didn't make much of a dint at the box office - probably just as well it didn't cost an arm-and-a-leg to make.
FOX chairman Tom Rothman told IESB today that, despite the lackluster performance of the latter, there's still the possibility of another - and he's leaving it up to the cast and crew as to whether they'd like to see that happen.
‘'It's really up to Chris [Carter], David [Duchovny] and Gillian [Anderson]", Rothman tells the site.
In addition, Rothman says new "Die Hard", "Independence Day" and "Silver Surfer" movies are also under consideration. You can read what he has to say about all those projects - and more - in IESB's exclusive interview.

Cold Water

Hello there. I decided to start somewhat of a blog where I will talk about videos I made as well as other videos I like. This is the first entry.

Originally, I started making this video a while ago, and I kinda got stuck in middle of it. I love Damien Rice and I wanted to do a vid to this song called Cold Water. At the time, I thought I should go with another song and that is where I started with one idea but finished on another one.

The lyrics of Sia's "Breathe Me" fitted better so I saved this project as a separate file on Ulead and put it in the folder with the other unfinished project. So, I continued on the same idea with some slight changes then what I had originally on mind and that is how I made my other video called "Breathe Me".

While the other day I was going through some ideas for a new vid, I came across this file and opened it on Ulead. And there we are, we see Scully opening the doors and entering the room (just like on the Breathe Me video) and thought this was perfect for the new video I wanted to make. I had the whole concept of the voiceovers, IWTB scenes and the car scenes already on my mind. Got them while I was taking a shower (hehe), run to my computer and kinda put it together as it is now (or almost).

I mostly throw the most of scenes I have in mind all together and then finish making my videos on a process which I call "sculpturing"... Sounds silly, but it's like a sculpture that is becoming shape, I throw the stuff together and make a form out of it and come back later to finish the fine work, like adjusting and editing small pieces.

For instance, the 3 scenes where Mulder and Scully touch hands following the song's lyrics came to me as I was almost done with the video so I had to go back and redo all the necessary editing to fit these 3 details into the final version. The car driving scene is from Six Feet Under, I loved that final scene of the series and how they've killed all of the characters and wrapped that show (glad it didn't happen on X-Files!). It was a great moment and I wanted to integrate it into my vid.

You will also notice the two similar scenes from Fight the Future and I want to believe integrated into the driving sequence at the end.

I've received many comments for you people and it really helps to keep me motivated and make more. So I thank you, it helps me improve and try not to deceive you all while still holding to my viding style.Until next time. Gomnitus.
